Mt. Vernon Intermediate Reopening Community Open House on May 7
Mt. Vernon Intermediate School (MVIS) is excited to announce its grand reopening, and the community is warmly invited to celebrate this special occasion! On Wednesday, May 7, families, students, and community members will have the opportunity to explore the school, meet the new principal, Ashley Gustin, and enjoy some light refreshments.
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a welcome reception, where guests can enjoy refreshments and take the opportunity to meet Principal Gustin. At 6:00 p.m., Ms. Gustin will deliver a brief presentation to share plans for the school and the exciting programs ahead for MVIS students and families.
Following the presentation, attendees are welcome to take a self-guided tour of the school building, exploring the updated facilities and learning more about what MVIS will offer grades five and six. Doors will close at 7:00 p.m.
The building is currently being used as Fortville Elementary School, which will be moving across the street into a brand new Fortville Elementary School. District-wide, grades five will be removed from the elementary schools to attend MVIS, and the sixth grade will be removed from the middle school. By reopening the intermediate school, more capacity will be created in all elementary schools and the middle school.
This event marks an important milestone for the Mt. Vernon community, and all are encouraged to attend and be a part of this exciting new chapter for MVIS.
