Racing Into Fun at the Annual Kindy 500

Kindergarteners at Fortville Elementary School (FES) and McCordsville Elementary School (MES) put their creativity in gear during the annual “Kindy 500” event, a beloved tradition fondly known as the cutest spectacle in racing.
At FES, kindergarten students proudly showcased their handmade cardboard cars as they paraded outside for families and staff to admire. Each class displayed its unique designs as they walked around an oval track set up outside the school, celebrating creativity, community, and school spirit. Later, students also had the opportunity to run around the track with their cars. The event focused on fun and celebration, creating a joyful experience for everyone involved.
At MES, students brought plenty of excitement with races and friendly competition. Kindergarten students first paraded through the school to show off their decorated cars before heading to the gym for the races. Students competed in classroom heats for the chance to advance to the final race and compete for the championship title. Just like the professionals, the overall winner received a trophy and the traditional jug of milk.
Congratulations to all of this year’s Kindy 500 participants! Your creativity, energy, and Marauder pride helped create memories that will last a lifetime.
