The Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation is pleased to celebrate and congratulate the fifth cohort of MV Ambassadors on their graduation. The special group of community members learned behind-the-scenes information about Mt. Vernon operations and programming in nine engaging meetings throughout the school year.
Throughout the experience, these MV Ambassadors built a deeper understanding of every department and school within the district, equipping them with valuable knowledge and insight. As graduates, they now serve as informed advocates and trusted resources for our schools and the broader community.
MV Ambassadors attend one Tuesday morning meeting per month from August through April. In order to graduate, they are asked to miss no more than one meeting throughout the school year. In these meetings, Ambassadors gained special insights into school operations and the interworkings of the different departments and programs, including transportation, finance, special education, technology, high ability, and more.
In addition, one of the most memorable experiences for MV Ambassadors was participating in student-led tours and presentations at each school, with a different elementary school featured each year. During these visits, Ambassadors gain firsthand insight into programming and student opportunities, further deepening their understanding of the Mt. Vernon experience and strengthening their connection to our schools.
The Ambassador program is designed to help people be a resource of Mt. Vernon knowledge for friends and the community. Led by the superintendent, assistant superintendent, CFO, director of curriculum, and director of community relations, dialogue with school leaders are a part of the program. Anyone in the community is welcome to apply to be a 2026-2027 MV Ambassador; having a student at Mt. Vernon is not a requirement.

“We deeply appreciate the unwavering support of our Mt. Vernon community. This outstanding group of Ambassadors exemplified dedication and a genuine investment of time as they explored the inner workings of our school district and the vital roles of each department,” said Maria Bond, Director of Community Relations. “It is truly rewarding to empower our community with knowledge that strengthens their connection to and pride in our school system.”
Throughout the year, Ambassadors are also encouraged to support our community in a variety of ways, including bringing non-perishable donations for local food pantries. Ambassadors learned how community partnerships play an important role in the educational experience of our students.
MVCSC would like to congratulate these 26 MV Ambassador graduates! Thank you for your dedication to learning more about the Mt. Vernon community!
