BUS DRIVER SUBSTITUTES: Interested in a flexible, part-time job? Well-trained bus drivers are essential to fostering a positive learning environment. MV will provide the training necessary to safely drive a bus. This is a rewarding job for individuals who enjoy working with children. It offers a unique schedule with summers and school breaks off, aligning with the school calendar. Most prior substitute bus drivers have advanced to drive a full-time route. This position is also an ideal opportunity for retirees looking to stay active and make a difference in students' lives without the commitment of year-round work.
As a bus driver, you play a key role in our district. As the first point of contact for our students, you set the tone for their day, ensuring they start each school day with a smile. Mt. Vernon bus drivers are highly regarded by students, families, and staff alike, and are truly valued members of our community.
CUSTODIANS: At Mt. Vernon, we offer competitive wages and comprehensive benefits for our custodians, including a variety of health insurance plans, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, long-term disability, sick days, paid personal days, and 10 paid vacation days. For second-shift employees, there may also be opportunities to switch to day shifts during the summer.
Maintaining our facilities is a top priority, and our custodians play a vital role in keeping our six school buildings in top condition. They work closely with the maintenance team to address issues before they become major concerns, ensuring our schools remain safe and functional.
Our custodians take great pride in their work, not only keeping the buildings clean but also maintaining security, replenishing supplies, and providing valuable support to staff and students. As an essential part of the Mt. Vernon community, custodians are an integral part of our Marauder family!
INTERESTED? Interviewees are encouraged to complete an application in advance through mvcsc.k12.in.us/Employment. Those who prefer to apply in person will have the opportunity to do so during the event.
